This website provides a history of discount retailing which goes back to the post WWII era with E.J. Korvettes, an early pioneer that developed the discount pricing model. Modern discount stores began in 1962 with WalMart, KMart, and Target. The website provides a link to further history, links to the websites for some of the major discount department stores, and a link to outlet store shopping.

Outlet Stores provides an overview to factory outlet store shopping. The website describes what consumers can expect at factory outlet stores; it also provides links to a number of outlet malls throughout the United States, some of which are close to tourist attractions. There are also links to two online outlet mall sites.

A retailer is a merchant who sells goods directly to consumers. This retail directory lists many types of retailers that are located throughout the United States. Each retailer listing includes a website link plus contact information.
